How to play Hashi Bridges online

  1. Read the number on an island and look for its next neighbor in each straight direction.
  2. Drag between two neighboring islands to add a bridge. Repeat to make two lanes, then repeat again to remove them.
  3. Match every island number and connect the entire network without crossing bridges.

Controls

Drag from one island to a neighboring island with touch or a mouse. Previous and Next select an island pair; Bridge cycles zero, one and two lanes. Undo reverses a change. Check highlights incorrect island totals, and Hint corrects one connection while hints remain.

A tip before you start

An island with only one neighbor forces that connection. Keep enough capacity for islands farther away, and avoid completing a small group that cannot connect to the rest.

Connect the five islands in Challenge 1

The opening Hashi Bridges board has five islands. Start with the two islands marked 1: each has only one possible neighbor.

  1. The 1 at the upper right of the top pair can connect only to the 2 immediately to its left. Add one bridge between them.
  2. The other 1, above the lower-right 2, also has only one neighbor. Add a vertical bridge down to that 2.
  3. Each of those 2s now has one lane and needs one more. Connect the top 2 down to the lower-left 2, then connect that lower-left 2 across to the lower-right 2.
  4. Follow the resulting chain from one 1 to the other. All five islands belong to the same network, every count matches, and no bridges cross.

This walkthrough describes Challenge 1. Later boards can require two lanes between neighbors; avoid closing a separate group before it connects to the rest.

One solution for each starting board

Every challenge has been checked for exactly one solution under the bridge-count, crossing and connectivity rules. The sequence grows from five islands to fourteen, with simpler searches first within each equal-island pair. The hint allowance falls from twenty to one.

A number match is only part of the goal

A hashi puzzle online is complete only when the whole network connects. Two separate groups can have correct local numbers and still leave the puzzle unfinished. Bridges also cannot pass through an intervening island.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play for free?

Yes. All twenty bridge puzzles are free in the browser with no ads, no download and no timer.

Why was my bridge rejected?

A bridge may join only the next island along a row or column. It cannot cross another bridge, and each island pair can carry at most two lanes.

How is progress saved?

Unlocked challenges, best scores and the sound setting are saved in this browser when local storage is available. An unfinished board resets after a reload. Restart asks for confirmation and keeps unlocked challenges.

Can I play on my phone or computer?

Use touch or a mouse, or focus the labeled action buttons with a keyboard. The game fits its available window and switches to a portrait layout on phones. Help opens in a separate dialog. Full screen is available where supported.

Why is my Hashi puzzle unfinished when every number matches?

The islands must also form one connected network. Two separate groups can have correct lane counts and still fail the puzzle.

Does a double bridge count as one or two?

It counts as two lanes at both ends. Each pair of neighboring islands can carry zero, one or two lanes.
