How to play Paper Football online
- Choose a full match against the computer, a match for two people on one device, or a precision study.
- Set the power and angle, then press Flick. A supported overhang at the opponent’s end scores six points; an ordinary shot passes the turn from where the paper stops.
- After a touchdown, attempt the extra point or skip it. In a full match, the first player with at least 21 points after that phase wins.
Controls
Use the visible power and angle controls, including fine adjustments, then press Flick. Dragging adjusts the aim without firing automatically. Undo takes back the last human action and any following computer response. Help, sound and fullscreen controls are available.
A tip before you start
Start with a moderate flick and look at where the paper stops. A small change in power can move the stopping point past the edge, especially in the later studies. For extra points, aim toward the opening from the visible starting spot.
Paper football game rules
This game uses an alternating-flick tabletop profile: each player takes one flick, a supported overhang at the opposing end is worth six points, and a successful extra kick is worth one. If the paper falls off any edge, the opponent gets the next kickoff. Families use different rules; this fall rule follows the Newton recreation instructions.
A complete match with clear turns
On an ordinary shot, the next player uses the position where the paper stopped and aims toward the other end. A touchdown keeps the scoring player in control for the extra kick. The match checks the 21-point target after that kick is attempted or skipped, so the extra-point phase is never silently cut off.
Kickoff and reset settings
Paper Football starts with Player 1 and puts the paper near that player’s end, centered across the table. After a fall or a completed scoring turn, the other player starts from the corresponding spot near their end. This fixed placement and the 21-point finish are MangoFun match settings; the physical game can use a coin toss and an airborne kickoff.
Twenty increasingly precise studies
Each study asks for one touchdown followed by a successful extra point. Later studies start farther from the scoring edge, so the same fixed physics leaves a narrower successful power range. The extra kick also starts farther away, with visible side offsets in later studies. The challenge comes from more precise control rather than hidden changes to the ball.
A simplified tabletop simulation
Before each flick, the triangle points toward the active player’s attacking end; changing turns does not score by itself. It then slides with fixed friction and does not spin. Its center must remain over the table to stay supported. Extra kicks use a fixed upward launch angle, and the whole projected paper ball must pass between the uprights above the crossbar. The goal has no top bar. These are consistent game rules for this simulation, rather than an exact model of real paper.
Practice, replay and learn
An unsuccessful study can be retried, and Undo lets you revisit the preceding shot. Hints show a suggested power and angle only when requested. Full matches and precision studies have separate purposes: beating the computer does not skip the study sequence.
Frequently asked questions
What is a touchdown in tabletop paper football?
The paper must stop with its tip beyond the opponent’s table edge while its center remains supported. A shot that falls off scores no touchdown. A side-edge overhang does not score.
How do I score the extra point?
After a touchdown, aim the airborne kick through the gap between the posts and above the crossbar. You can also skip the attempt. In a precision study, both the touchdown and extra point must succeed to complete the study.
Can two people play on the same device?
Yes. Choose the local two-player match and take turns using the same controls. You can also play against the computer. There is no network matchmaking.
Is this paper soccer drawn on a grid?
This is the tabletop game played with a folded triangular paper football. The pencil-and-grid game has different movement and scoring rules.
Does the game save my progress?
Study unlocks, best results and sound preferences save on this device when local storage is available. Active matches start again after a reload. The game remains playable if storage is unavailable.
