How to play Untangle Rope online
- Select a wooden peg and follow the ropes attached to it.
- Drag the peg into a clearer position and release to commit the move.
- Remove every crossing while keeping separate pegs apart to unlock the next challenge.
Controls
Drag pegs with a mouse or touch. Previous and Next select movable pegs; arrow buttons move the selected peg. Undo restores the last move. Hint moves one peg toward a verified solution. Stone anchors stay fixed.
A tip before you start
Start at the edge of the knot and look for a peg joined to several crossing ropes. Opening one area often makes the next move easier to see.
Twenty knots without a countdown
Each challenge adds another starting crossing, while the number of pegs grows from five to fourteen. The second half introduces a fixed stone anchor. Every starting board has a verified arrangement with no crossings, and there is no timer or move limit.
Keep the lines separate
This is a flat endpoint puzzle. Two ropes may meet at their shared peg, but overlapping rope segments and ropes passing through a different peg still need to be untangled. Stacking pegs on one spot does not count as a solution.

Does Hint always finish the board immediately?
Hint returns one misplaced movable peg toward the stored solution. You may need several moves to clear the remaining crossings.

Unlocked challenges, best scores and the sound setting are saved in this browser when local storage is available. An unfinished board resets after a reload. Restart asks for confirmation and keeps unlocked challenges.
Can I play on my phone or computer?
Use touch or a mouse, or focus the labeled action buttons with a keyboard. The game fits its available window and switches to a portrait layout on phones. Help opens in a separate dialog. Full screen is available where supported.
