How to play Omi online
- Choose Full CPU match or a study. In a match, the player to the dealer's right selects trump from the first four cards. If that player is you, select a suit and press Confirm trump.
- After the second batch, each player has eight cards. Select a card and press Play card. Follow the led suit when you can; otherwise choose any card.
- Finish all eight tricks, review the team tokens and choose Next deal. The first partnership to collect ten tokens wins. Studies instead ask for a minimum number of additional team tricks.
Controls
Tap or click a card or trump choice, then confirm with the action button. Keys 1–8 select a hand slot; 1–4 select trump during the call. Arrows move focus and Enter or Space selects. P confirms, H hints, U or Ctrl+Z undoes a study, C continues a completed deal, and Escape clears. Help and Score & rules open separate dialogs.
A tip before you start
Do not spend a high trump merely to beat a partner who already controls the trick. Compare the cards already played with the seats still to act. In the open studies, you can check that idea against all four hands.
A clear four-player rules profile
You and Partner face West and East. This version uses 32 cards: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8 and 7 in each suit. Play runs counterclockwise: You, East, Partner, West. The trump maker leads first, then each trick winner leads the next.
Why the first four cards matter
The dealer gives four cards to each player before trump is chosen. The player to the dealer's right must decide from that partial hand; no future cards or partner cards are revealed. After the call, four more cards complete every hand. The dealer rotates right after each deal.
Follow suit and win with your partner
Follow the suit that was led whenever possible. If you have none, any card is legal; trumping and overtrumping are optional. The highest trump wins, or the highest card of the led suit if nobody plays trump. Your partner's tricks count toward the same team total.
From eight tricks to ten tokens
A trump-making team taking five to seven tricks earns one token. The other team earns two for the same result. Either team taking all eight earns three automatically. Collected tokens stay with the team; an opposing win does not subtract them. The first team to reach ten or more wins.
Draws carry a bonus
A four-four draw gives neither team an immediate award. In this app, each draw adds one carried token. The next decisive deal awards its normal tokens plus that accumulated bonus. This repeated-draw convention is explicit, and the separate variant requiring an early announcement for all eight tricks is not used.
Twenty studies with increasing choices
The studies begin at positions reached from legal deals, with all four hands open. Reach the displayed additional team-trick target while your automatic partner helps and both opponents resist. Two-card endings lead to four-card endings, with more meaningful human choices and nondecreasing necessary planning depth. Any continuation that meets the target is accepted.
Hints, Undo and match advice
Each study offers two successful hints. A hint preserves the team target; it reports an unknown result if the search limit is reached. Undo restores your previous choice and all automatic replies without refunding hints. Full matches have no Undo, and their CPU players and Hint use only their own hand and public information.
Keep progress and restart safely
Unlocked studies, best results and sound preference save locally when storage is available. Restart repeats the initial deal after confirmation; New match creates a fresh deal. Unfinished matches restart on reload. There is no timer, account, cash stake or remote multiplayer.
Frequently asked questions
Is this Omi or Court Piece?
This is the 32-card Omi profile with a four-card trump decision and token scoring. It does not substitute the deck and scoring of Court Piece.
Must I trump when I cannot follow suit?
No. If you have none of the led suit, any card is legal, including a nontrump discard.
What if several deals end four-four?
Each draw adds one carried token in this version. All accumulated tokens go to the team that wins the next decisive deal, alongside its usual award.
Does Partner help in the studies?
Yes. Partner plays to maximize your team's remaining tricks, while West and East minimize them. The displayed target is guaranteed with correct choices under those study conditions.
Can computer opponents inspect my hand?
Normal-match opponents and normal Hint cannot inspect other hands or undealt cards. The separate studies deliberately reveal every hand.
Are the study targets token scores?
No. They count additional tricks won by You and Partner from the displayed position. Full matches use the one-, two- and three-token scoring table.
