How to play Draw Dominoes online

  1. Choose Full hand for a shuffled game against the computer. Each player receives seven tiles from a complete twenty-eight-tile double-six set; fourteen stay in the stock. You lead with any tile.
  2. Select a tile in your hand, then choose Left end or Right end. Its touching number must match the exposed number at that end of the chain. Blanks are zero and can match other zero ends.
  3. If no tile fits, choose Draw one until you can play or the stock empties. A draw keeps your turn. You must play when possible; Pass is available only with no playable tile and no stock.
  4. Empty your hand to win. If both players pass consecutively, compare the pips left in each hand: the lower total wins, and equal totals draw. The winner scores the opponent’s remaining pips.

Controls

Click or tap your tile, then Left end or Right end. Arrow keys select a tile; Enter or L plays left, Space or R plays right, D draws, P passes, H requests a hint and U undoes. Tap a chain tile to inspect it in the enlarged preview; [ and ] move that inspection along the chain. Cancelled touches do not move a tile. Restart, mode changes and level changes ask for confirmation.

A tip before you start

Count the numbers you can still play before choosing an end. A heavy tile reduces the pips left in your hand, but keeping access to both ends can be more useful. In the open challenges, use the visible opposing hand and stock order to check what the computer can do next.

The Draw rules used here

The game uses a single chain with two open ends. Doubles do not become four-way spinners. You may draw only when nothing in your hand can be placed, and all stock tiles may be drawn. A hand scores once, at its end; there is no running 100-point match or bonus for making the exposed ends total five.

Twenty challenges with every reply checked

Both hands and the ordered stock are visible in Challenges, with the leftmost stock tile drawn first. Each start was reached through recorded legal moves from a complete twenty-eight-tile deal. Every challenge has a winning strategy against every legal computer reply. Remaining tiles never decrease across the sequence, from four to twelve, while a fixed exhaustive search visits strictly more states at each level. These measurements describe planning work, not a guarantee that every level feels harder to every player.

A computer that uses public information

In Full hand, the computer chooses from its own tiles using the visible ends and public tile counts. It cannot inspect your hidden tiles or the stock order. Its decisions and full-hand hints are heuristics, without a guaranteed win. The teaching mode uses complete open information and verified choices instead.

The whole chain fits the game area

Every played tile stays visible in a numbered miniature chain. Read its rows from left to right, then top to bottom; the only open ends are the left side of tile 1 and the right side of the final tile. Selecting a chain tile enlarges its two values in the preview. The layout adapts to portrait and landscape without extending the chain beyond the game area.

Undo without changing the draw order

Undo restores your previous action and every computer action that followed it, including multiple draws and a blocked-hand result. The stock returns in its exact previous order. Used hints are not refunded. Full-hand wins stay separate from challenge unlocks. Unlocked levels, best scores and sound preferences save locally when storage is available; unfinished hands restart on reload.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play dominos games for free without an account?

Yes. The full-hand mode and all twenty teaching challenges are free, with no account, download or paid hints.

Why can’t I draw when I already have a matching tile?

This Draw variant requires a playable tile to be placed. Drawing is allowed only when no tile in your hand matches either open end.

Can a zero match another zero?

Yes. Zero is a normal end value. The 0–0 tile is legal and contributes zero to a remaining-hand pip total.

What happens when the chain is blocked?

After the stock is empty, a player with no legal placement passes. Two consecutive passes end the hand. The lower remaining pip total wins the opponent’s pip total; equal totals are a draw.

Does a double let me start a new branch?

No. This game has no spinners. Each double extends the same chain and leaves only its two usual ends available.

Can I play against someone on another device?

This version provides a computer opponent and open-information teaching challenges. It does not have remote multiplayer rooms.
