Controls
Tap or click a card to select it, then press Lead card. Tap it again or choose Cancel choice to clear the selection. The table resolves compulsory single-card plays and passes automatically. Rank & points shows the latest sequence, payments and public played cards. Left and Right move focus; Enter or Space selects; P leads; H requests advice; G plays the suggested card; U or Ctrl+Z undoes a study lead.
A tip before you start
The player with the fourth card of a rank chooses what comes next. In an open study, count where all four matching cards sit, then follow the clockwise turns. A rank that removes several cards from your hand can still hand the next lead to a rival who is close to finishing.
Four players and four cards of each rank
This table uses the equal-rank, single-card version of Snip Snap Snorum described by Pagat. All 52 cards are dealt clockwise, thirteen to each of four players, starting left of the dealer. There are no jokers. The player left of the dealer leads any card. You play against Fern, Iris and Sage. Suits distinguish the cards, but matching depends only on rank: any seven can follow another seven.
Snip, Snap, Snorum, then a fresh lead
After the lead, turns continue clockwise. A player holding that rank must play exactly one matching card. A player without it must pass. The second matching card is Snip, the third is Snap and the fourth is Snorum. The fourth card's player chooses any rank for the next lead. Even if you hold several matching cards, each belongs to a separate turn. The digital table resolves these forced turns for you and keeps a readable action record.
A pass breaks the previous player's liability
When one matching card immediately follows another player's matching card, the previous player pays points into the pool: one for Snip, two for Snap or three for Snorum. An intervening pass breaks this liability. For example, if Fern leads a seven, Iris passes and Sage plays the second seven, Fern pays nothing. If you then play the third seven immediately after Sage, Sage pays two points. The pass changes the payment, not the second card's place in the rank.
Empty your hand before the rank is finished
The first empty hand ends the deal immediately. You do not wait for all four cards of the current rank. Apply any adjacent-match payment caused by the final card, then each other player pays one point per card still held. The winner collects the pool. Point balances may be negative because this table records a signed ledger. There is no ante, five-chip elimination or real-money play.
Complete deals with hidden rival hands
Full CPU deal mode keeps the three rival hands hidden. Computer decisions and ordinary hints use only the acting player's hand, public played cards and visible hand sizes. They cannot inspect unseen ranks. Each game is one complete deal. Restart repeats its shuffle after confirmation; New deal starts another shuffle. Ordinary deals have no Undo.
Twenty open-hand planning studies
Practice deliberately reveals all four hands. Empty your hand first within the displayed number of your own lead choices, against every legal opposing lead. The earliest guaranteed plans need two choices and later plans need as many as five. Remaining hand sizes and the number of consequential alternatives increase through the set. Each position comes from an original full deal and a legal earlier sequence. The study goal is finishing first within its budget, not maximizing the point ledger.
Follow the lead beyond one rank
In a study, examine who will play the fourth card and which ranks that player can choose next. Some leads shed cards quickly but give away control; another lead may keep the route to your last card open. A rival can finish on the first, second or third card of a later rank, so counting four-card groups alone is not enough. The Rank & points dialog also lists the revealed hands for a closer look.
Hints, Undo and local progress
Each study provides three successful hints. Undo restores your previous lead and every following computer response, while used hints stay used. A hint that reaches its work limit is reported as unknown. Completing a study unlocks the next. Local storage keeps unlocked studies, best scores and sound preference when available; unfinished deals are not saved. Help, Pause, dialogs and hidden tabs suspend computer turns. Restart and mode changes ask for confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
Which Snip Snap Snorum card game is this?
The equal-rank version with one matching card per player turn and adjacent-match point payments. The five-card ascending sequence version has different rules and is not used here.
Can I play all my matching cards together?
No. You play one card on a turn, then play moves clockwise. The table automatically handles the following forced turns, but the action record keeps them separate.
Does every Snip, Snap or Snorum cause a payment?
Only when the matching card immediately follows the previous player's card with no intervening pass. A pass ends that liability without restarting the rank.
Do I need the fourth card to win?
No. Emptying your hand ends the deal immediately, regardless of whether your final card was the lead, Snip, Snap or Snorum.
Why are the opponents' cards visible in practice?
The twenty studies are open-hand planning exercises. Their hints account for all legal opposing leads. Complete CPU deals keep rival cards hidden.
Is Snip Snap Snorum free with no ads?
Yes. Complete computer deals and all twenty studies are free with no ads, account or download. This version has computer opponents and does not include online multiplayer rooms.
