How to Install APK and XAPK Files on Android

Check an Android package, understand split APK installation, and find the right next step for APK or XAPK downloads.

Start with the official store

If the game is available for your device on Google Play, use its store listing. Play checks device compatibility and manages updates. MangoFun also offers a package lookup, but a catalog entry does not guarantee an available APK or XAPK.

Installing a single APK

Check the package name, source, Android requirement and device architecture before downloading. On Android, open the completed APK and follow the system installer. If Android requests permission to install from that browser or file manager, grant it only for a source you trust and turn it off afterward. Menu names vary between devices. Keep Play Protect enabled.

Installing an XAPK

An XAPK is an archive, not a format handled directly by the standard Android package installer. MangoFun XAPK downloads can contain a base APK, architecture-specific split APKs, game data and a manifest. Use a trusted installer that supports that package format and the included splits or data files. Renaming .xapk to .apk does not make it a single APK, and installing only the base file can leave required components missing.

Check before launching

Wait until the download and installation finish. A compatible CPU architecture alone is not enough: the Android version, required splits and game services also matter. An installed game may still need an internet connection or additional downloads.

If installation fails

Read the exact Android error. Check available storage, the Android requirement and whether the package is complete. Follow the installation troubleshooting guide below; do not uninstall an existing game just to bypass an error, because local progress may be lost.
