Play Garden Castles in Spain Online
Play Castles in Spain Solitaire on a Spanish courtyard table, with every card visible from the start. Thirteen short columns offer plenty of information, but moving only one card at a time makes the order of each transfer matter. Learn alternating-color bridges in twenty original practices or try a complete fifty-two-card deal.
How to play Garden Castles in Spain online
- Choose an unlocked practice, a shuffled full deal or the fixed repeatable deck.
- Expose the next card needed by each suit foundation.
- Move one exposed card at a time, following the column rules shown in Help.
- Use empty columns as temporary workspaces and bring every card home from Ace to King.
Controls
Tap a source pile, tap a destination and press Move. Tap the selected source again or press Clear to cancel. Arrow keys choose sources and destinations; Enter selects, P moves, H hints and U or Ctrl+Z undoes. Pile details lists every card.
A tip before you start
Read the cards below a possible destination before using it. Moving a black Queen onto a red King is legal, but that King may sit above a low card you need to uncover next.
Thirteen fully visible columns
A full deal places four cards in each of thirteen columns. The four suit foundations start empty and build upward from Ace to King. All cards are face up, so there is no hidden-card draw or stock to wait for. Pile details lists every column from its bottom card to its exposed top.
Alternate colors, one exposed card at a time
Columns build downward by one rank in alternating colors. A red 6 can go on a black 7; a red 7 cannot receive it. Any card can start an empty column. You cannot lift a packed sequence in one action: reconstruct it through individual legal moves and the temporary spaces currently available.
The rule edition used here
Garden Castles in Spain uses the fully visible, single-card edition. It does not mix in the partly hidden layouts or group transfers found in some other versions. Foundation cards remain home once played, except when you undo your last action. There is no redeal, automatic refill or Ace-to-King wrap.
Rebuild a bridge without trapping its base
An empty column can hold a card while you rebuild an alternating run elsewhere. Look beyond the first legal landing: the next card may need the opposite color, and the bottom of your temporary run may still be blocking a foundation card. Twenty original constructed practices increase from eight to forty-six remaining cards and require rearrangement before completion. They demonstrate longer single-card paths rather than just changing the shuffle.
Use a hint without surrendering the choice
A practice offers up to three hints. Each hint verifies a complete continuation, then selects one move for you to confirm. If the search reaches its budget, the result is unknown and no hint is charged. A suggested route is not a claim that other moves lose. Full-game hints offer legal moves only; shuffled games are not guaranteed solvable.
Play at your own pace
Play free online with no ads, download, account or timer. Undo preserves the number of hints already used. Restart and mode changes ask before replacing the active board. Unlocked practices, the active game and sound settings save on this device when browser storage is available. Pile details keeps the full card order readable when long columns are compressed.
Frequently asked questions
Are all cards visible?
Yes. This edition starts with thirteen face-up columns of four.
May I move an ordered group?
No. Move exposed cards individually, using legal destinations and empty columns.
Is this the partly hidden version?
No. The full-visibility profile is stated here and in the in-game help.
What can fill an empty column?
Any single card, not only a King.
Are all shuffled games winnable?
No guarantee is made for shuffled full games. The twenty constructed starting practices have verified finishing routes.
Does the game save my progress?
It saves locally when browser storage is available. If storage is blocked, you can continue the session without a persistent save.
