How to play Garden Color Nonogram online

  1. Read row clues from left to right and column clues from top to bottom. Each number describes the length of one consecutive run in its marked color.
  2. Choose Leaf (L), Petal (P), or Sky (S) when available, then tap or drag cells. Two-color puzzles use Leaf and Petal. Letters appear on both clues and filled cells.
  3. Leave at least one blank between separate runs of the same color. Different colors can touch directly, although blanks may also separate them. A zero clue means the whole line is blank.
  4. Use Cross for confirmed empty cells and Erase for unknown cells. Finish every colored run to unlock the next puzzle; crossing every blank is optional.

Controls

Click or tap to paint one cell, or drag a stroke. Choose a color, Cross, or Erase beside the board. Arrow keys move focus; 1/2/3 select colors, X chooses Cross, 0 chooses Erase, and Enter or Space marks the focused cell. C checks, H hints and U undoes. Pause, sound, Help, restart and full screen remain available outside the canvas.

A tip before you start

Start with long runs and lines whose colors have few possible positions. In a two-run clue such as 2L 3P, the two Leaf cells can meet the three Petal cells directly. For 2L 3L, reserve a blank between the Leaf runs. Check the perpendicular clues before filling the remaining space.

A nonogram game online with colored clues

Every clue pairs its color with a letter: L for Leaf, P for Petal and S for Sky. The same letters appear in painted cells. This lets you track which run belongs to which color without relying on color alone. The puzzle cells are logical mosaic patterns, rather than copied pictures from another puzzle library.

Twenty unique-solution mosaics

The boards progress from 5×5 through 6×6 and 7×7 to 8×8. Every puzzle has exactly one solution under the stated colored-run rules. A fixed complete solver performs more candidate-cell comparisons at every level, from 77 to 148,755. That measures increasing constraint work; it does not promise that each later puzzle feels harder. More colors alone are not treated as greater difficulty.

Undo, Check and Hint

One drag is one Undo action. Leaving the grid, cancelling a touch, opening Help, resizing or losing focus restores an unfinished stroke. Check highlights wrong painted colors and wrong crosses, while leaving unknown cells for you to solve. Hint corrects one missing or incorrect square. Undo can reopen a finished puzzle, and used hints are never refunded.

Single-color and multicolored play

Pocket Nonogram remains the single-color companion, where every separate run needs a blank gap. Garden Color Nonogram focuses on colored runs and their different adjacency rule. Both are free browser puzzles; each has its own levels, progress and page.

A small board that fits the window

The board and its complete clues scale with the available game area, with a portrait arrangement on phones. Required actions stay beside or below the board and Help opens separately. Play with no ads or download. Unlocked levels, best scores and sound save in this browser when storage is available; an unfinished puzzle starts fresh after reloading.

Frequently asked questions

Do differently colored runs need an empty square between them?

No. A Leaf run can touch a Petal or Sky run directly. Separate runs of the same color require at least one empty square between them. Clue order still applies.

Must I cross out every blank square to finish?

No. All colored squares must match the unique solution, and no extra colored squares may remain. You can leave true blanks unknown or mark them with Cross.

What happens if I choose the wrong color?

You can repaint or erase the square, undo the stroke, or use Check to highlight incorrect marks. Mistakes do not end the game or lock the level.

Are these the same puzzles as Pocket Nonogram?

No. These are original colored mosaics with colored-run clues. Pocket Nonogram keeps its separate single-color puzzles and original URL. Progress is saved independently.

Is this a nonogram game online free to play?

Yes. All twenty levels are free, with no account, timer or download. Win each challenge to unlock the next, and use the level selector to revisit unlocked puzzles.

What happens when saving is unavailable?

The game shows a storage notice and stays playable for the current session. Reloading starts a fresh attempt. Restarting or changing levels asks for confirmation.
