Garden Accordion is an accordion solitaire card game played with a complete 52-card deck. Move a whole pile onto a matching pile one or three places to its left. Keep bringing piles together until all 52 cards share one final pile.
Select a pile and compare its top card with the top cards one and three piles to its left.
Move onto a pile only when the two top cards share a suit or rank. The whole source pile moves, and the remaining piles close the gap.
Continue until one pile remains. A wrong choice can leave no legal merge, so Undo lets you return to an earlier decision.
Controls
Select a source pile, then tap an outlined destination, or drag the source onto it. Previous pile and Next pile change your selection; Left 1 and Left 3 make the corresponding legal merge. The selected top card is named below the board. Undo restores a whole move, while Hint outlines a suggested source and destination.
A tip before you start
Compare both destinations before moving. A three-place jump changes the spacing of several piles and may create a new match. After each merge, count from the new order rather than the old card positions.
How to play the Accordion card game
Match either suit or rank, and move only toward the beginning of the sequence. For example, a seven of hearts can move onto any heart or any seven exactly one or three piles to its left. Moving two places left, or moving right, is not allowed.
Rows form one continuous sequence
All 52 cards start face up. The layout wraps the sequence into rows to fit the game window; a row break does not reset the count. The first pile on a row follows the last pile on the row above, so a legal move can cross that boundary.
Full-deck deals, carefully ordered
There are twenty selected deals, each with all four suits and all thirteen ranks. Every starting deal has a checked route to one pile. Deals are ordered by increasing search difficulty; they all take 51 successful merges, but the choices that preserve a finish differ.
Recover from a difficult choice
A highlighted destination means that the move is legal, not that it guarantees a win. Hint looks for a route from your current position. If its search cannot find one within its limit, it asks you to undo toward an earlier position; it does not invent a move or reset your cards.
Frequently asked questions
Does the whole pile move?
Yes. Every card in the source pile moves together. Its top card remains on top at the destination, and the other piles slide together to close the gap.
Are all 52 cards used?
Yes. Each deal contains every card from a standard deck exactly once. Cards are combined into piles rather than discarded, and the winning pile contains all 52.
Is the game free and untimed?
Yes. Play all twenty deals free, with no ads, no download and no timer. You can pause to think before choosing a merge.
What does Hint do?
Hint outlines a suggested move; you make the move yourself. Some choices can make a deal unwinnable, and a search that reaches its limit may ask you to undo instead of showing a suggestion.
What progress is saved?
Unlocked deals, best scores and your sound setting are saved in this browser when local storage is available. The current card layout is not saved: reloading opens deal one, and you can choose any unlocked deal from the level menu. Restart asks for confirmation and keeps your unlocked deals.
Can I use a phone or computer?
Use touch or a mouse, with selection buttons as an alternative to dragging. The board fits inside the game window, the selected top card is also shown by name, and Help opens in its own dialog.
