How to play Garden Fifteens online

  1. Choose a full deal, a fixed practice deal or an unlocked open-stock study.
  2. Select any two or more cards from Ace through Nine that total fifteen, or four cards of the same high rank.
  3. Confirm the whole group. The tableau refills from stock after the removal.
  4. Clear every remaining card to win, using Undo to compare a different group when a line becomes blocked.

Controls

Tap cards to select a group, then press Remove group. Tap a selected card again to remove it from the selection. Previous and Next card move the focus; Select / remove toggles the focused card. Arrow keys move, Enter or Space selects, P confirms, H hints, U or Ctrl+Z undoes, and Escape clears. Group details explains the current selection and the latest study hint.

A tip before you start

A legal sum can still spoil the finish. Before removing three small cards, compare the larger cards that depend on them. In an open study, include the next stock ranks in that plan; in a full deal those ranks remain unknown.

Two kinds of removable group

Aces count one and the other low cards keep their printed values. Any group of two or more Ace-through-Nine cards may leave when its total is exactly fifteen. For example, two, six and seven form a legal group. Tens belong with the court cards instead: remove four Tens, four Jacks, four Queens or four Kings together. Suits do not change either rule. A five and a ten cannot make a numerical group in this version.

One deck and sixteen visible cards

A complete deal starts with sixteen face-up cards in a four-by-four tableau and the other thirty-six in a hidden stock. After removing a group, surviving cards keep their order and new cards appear after them until sixteen are visible or the stock is empty. The grid positions do not affect legality. There is no building, reserve pile or redeal. A win clears all fifty-two cards; having no legal group with cards left ends the attempt.

Know which Fifteens rules you are playing

This game follows the low-card-sum and equal-high-quartet profile described by SolSuite and Solitaire Forever. Some other games with this name use a growing reserve pile, direct six-nine and seven-eight pairs, or a mixed Ten-Jack-Queen-King set. Those are different rules. Here, select the complete group on the tableau and confirm it at once; a partial group does not draw replacement cards.

Look beyond the current fifteen

Low cards can belong to several possible groups. Spending them on one group changes what remains available for the next refill. Clearing a legal group is therefore different from proving that the entire position can be cleared. In a full game, the stock stays hidden and chance still matters. Some shuffled deals cannot be won, including rare deals with no legal starting group. New deal offers another attempt without changing study progress.

Twenty original studies with visible stock

Each study begins at a position legally reached from an original full-deck deal. Every remaining stock rank is visible in order, next card first, so the challenge is planning rather than guessing hidden information. The course grows from seven to twenty-nine remaining cards and from one to seven necessary meaningful choices. The number of losing continuations in the solved decision graph increases at each level. Multiple groups may preserve a win; there is no requirement to find one arbitrary prescribed move.

Use an exact hint to compare groups

A study provides three hints per attempt. A completed search selects a group that preserves a complete clearing path. Group details may also identify a different legal group that leaves no winning finish in that open position. The hint never removes cards for you. If an earlier choice has already lost every finish, it explains that Undo is needed. A search that reaches its limit remains inconclusive and uses no hint. Full-game suggestions instead examine only the visible tableau and do not guarantee a win.

Inspect a selection before removing it

The selection message shows a low-card total or the number of equal high cards chosen. Mixed high and low cards, unequal court ranks, duplicate selections and incomplete quartets cannot be confirmed. You can clear the selection and start again without changing the deal. Group details also lists the visible rank counts and the previous removal, making it easier to compare what a refill changed.

Replay and save study progress

Undo restores an entire removed group and the stock cards drawn afterward. Hints stay charged. Restart repeats the same starting deal; starting a new deal or changing mode or study asks before replacing the current position. Study unlocks, best completion scores and sound preference save in this browser. An unfinished deal restarts after a reload. If storage is unavailable, progress lasts for the current session. No account, betting or remote opponent is involved.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove more than two cards to make fifteen?

Yes. Any group of two or more cards from Ace through Nine is legal when its total is exactly fifteen.

Can I remove a Ten, Jack, Queen and King together?

No. Each high-card group must contain four cards of one rank. The mixed high-card set belongs to a different Fifteens variant.

Does it matter which suits I choose?

Suits have no effect on sums or quartets. If two visible cards have the same rank, choosing either preserves the same rank-based options.

Why did a legal removal leave me stuck?

The sum or quartet rule checks one group. It does not promise a complete finish after that group's refill. Undo lets you test another legal choice.

Does a full-game suggestion read the hidden stock?

No. It selects a legal group using only the visible tableau. Exact completion searches are reserved for the open-stock studies.

Can I replay a study after completing it?

Yes. Unlocked studies remain available in the level selector. Changing studies asks before replacing your current attempt.
