How to play Garden Pyramid Golf online

  1. Choose a progressive study or a random full deal.
  2. Find an exposed pyramid card one rank above or below the waste.
  3. Plan which covering cards to remove, drawing from the stock when useful.
  4. Clear the entire pyramid to finish, with Undo and hints available for practice.

Controls

Tap or click an exposed pyramid card to take it. Tap a covered or wrong-rank card for an explanation, and use the amber outlines to find its blockers. Tap the stock or Draw one for a new waste card. Previous and Next card, or the arrow keys, change focus; Take card, Enter or Space plays that card. Explain or I describes the focused choice, D draws, H hints and U undoes. Dragging away cancels a tap.

A tip before you start

When two exposed cards fit the waste, look at what each one uncovers. Clearing the second blocker of a useful rank can continue your run, while an equally legal card elsewhere may open nothing. The explanation for a legal card names any cards it would expose.

One visible pyramid and one stock pass

A full deal uses all 52 cards. Twenty-eight form seven overlapping rows, with one card at the top and seven at the base. All their faces are visible. The next card starts the waste, and the other twenty-three form the stock. Drawing turns one stock card onto the waste. You may draw even when a pyramid move is available, but there is no recycle.

Both covering cards must be gone

A card is exposed only when the two cards immediately below it have both been removed. The seven cards along the bottom begin exposed. Clearing only one blocker is not enough. You can inspect a covered card before it is playable: its explanation names the blockers still present, and amber outlines mark them on the board.

Follow adjacent ranks, including Ace and King

Move an exposed card to the waste when it is one rank above or below the current waste top. Suits do not matter. For example, a Queen accepts a Jack or King, and an Ace accepts a King or Two. This version wraps between Ace and King. A green edge identifies a legal take. Clear the entire pyramid to win, even if cards remain in the stock.

Twenty studies that grow into a full pyramid

The challenge sequence contains twenty different positions legally reached from ten original standard deals. It begins with nine pyramid cards left and ends with all twenty-eight. Later studies retain more covered cards and need more stock draws on their best clearing routes. Remaining cards, shortest clearing-route length and a fixed search's workload increase throughout the sequence. The minimum additional stock draws never decrease, rising from four to twenty-three. These are twenty progressive positions, not twenty separate complete deals.

A study minimum is a target, not a draw limit

Each study shows the fewest additional stock draws needed to clear its original position. Your counter starts at zero for that study, even if earlier draws were made before the position began. You may use more than the minimum and still finish if a route remains. Undo restores the previous counter and card state. Full Deal has no preset minimum target.

Hints account for the remaining stock

Hint previews a move on a clearing route that uses the fewest additional draws from the current position. It also reports that remaining draw count. Play hint performs just the suggested move. This analysis can use the identities of hidden stock cards, so it is practice assistance beyond the information visible on the table. If the search reaches its limit, it reports that limitation rather than declaring a loss. Hint use remains counted after Undo.

Full deals and local challenge progress

Full Deal starts a standard random shuffle with no promise that it can be cleared. Restart repeats its exact starting position; New deal asks before replacing it. Only challenge wins unlock later studies. Unlocked studies, best scores and sound preference save locally when this browser permits storage. Reload starts a fresh first study. Pause and Help block play, and full-screen controls are available where the browser supports them.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pyramid Golf Solitaire the same as Pyramid Solitaire?

They use a similar triangular layout, but the rules differ. This game removes one exposed card at a time by adjacent rank. It does not remove pairs totaling thirteen.

Is this game also called Escalator?

The all-visible pyramid with wrapping adjacent-rank play is also called Escalator. The rules used on this page are stated above; other Golf variants can treat Aces and Kings differently.

Can I play a King on an Ace?

Yes. Ace and King connect in both directions in this version. Only exposed pyramid cards can move.

Why does a visible card refuse to move?

It may still have one or two cards covering it, or its rank may not be adjacent to the waste top. Tap it or use Explain to see the specific reason.

Do I need to empty the stock to win?

No. Clearing all twenty-eight pyramid cards completes the deal. Drawing again after the pyramid is clear is unnecessary.

Does the minimum-draw target mean every full deal can be won?

No. The twenty studies have verified clearing routes and minimum-draw targets. Random full deals can be impossible. A hint search that reaches its limit also leaves winnability unresolved.
