Check the trump suit, then select any card in your hand. You are allowed to ignore the suit led, even if you hold that suit.
Choose Play card to commit. A trump beats a non-trump; otherwise the stronger card of the suit led wins the trick.
The winner takes the card points, draws first and leads next. The exposed trump card is drawn last.
In a full deal, play all 20 tricks. More than 60 of the 120 points wins; 60–60 is a draw. In a study, reach its separate future-points target.
Controls
Tap a card, then Play card. Arrow keys change focus; Enter or Space selects and P plays. U or Ctrl+Z undoes the whole human decision and the computer response with the same draw order. H offers a hint, while Score explains card points and the previous trick. Help, Pause and loss of focus stop game input. Restart repeats the current deal; New Deal reshuffles after confirmation.
A tip before you start
The strongest card is not always the best card to spend. A small trump can take an Ace or a 3, while sacrificing a zero-point card may preserve a valuable response for later. In open studies, check who will draw the next card before deciding who should win the current trick.
The 40-card deck and rank order
This version uses familiar French suits after removing every 8, 9 and 10. Within a suit, the order from strongest to weakest is Ace, 3, King, Queen, Jack, 7, 6, 5, 4, 2. Rank and points differ: Ace is worth 11, 3 is worth 10, King 4, Queen 3 and Jack 2; every other card is worth zero.
Two-player trump and drawing rules
Each player begins with three cards. The face-up card fixes trump and remains at the bottom of the stock. Any hand card may be played: there is no compulsory follow-suit or compulsory trump. The trick winner draws before the loser and leads next. After the stock empties, play the remaining hands. There is no trump exchange, partnership rule or last-trick bonus here.
Full CPU deal and open study are different modes
The ordinary computer game keeps the other hand and stock order hidden. Its computer uses only its own cards and public information. Open studies deliberately reveal both hands and the exact remaining draw order so you can plan a guaranteed future-points target. Points captured before the study are shown separately; reaching its target does not necessarily mean winning the original full deal.
Twenty lessons with deeper choices
Every study comes from a legal 40-card deal history and keeps at most three cards in each hand. Later positions require more branching decisions and longer essential plans. Some later studies still have cards to draw, and the real winner-first draw order remains part of the puzzle. Any legal continuation that reaches the stated target counts; you do not have to copy one hidden sequence.
Undo, saved progress and another attempt
Undo restores the human move, computer reply and any next lead as one transaction. Restart keeps the same starting deal. Completed studies unlock the course; ordinary CPU games do not. Unlocked levels, best scores and sound are saved locally, while unfinished positions start fresh after reloading. An artwork-loading problem offers Retry.
Frequently asked questions
Must I follow suit in Briscola?
No. In this two-player version you may play any card, whether or not you hold the suit led.
Is there a bonus for taking the last trick?
No. Only the 120 points printed by the card-value rules count. A 60–60 full-deal result is a draw.
Why can I see the computer's cards in a study?
Studies are explicitly open planning exercises. A normal CPU deal conceals the computer hand and the order of the stock.
Does the game support online multiplayer?
This version is single-player against a computer on your device. It does not have remote multiplayer.
