A defense card adds its rank to the table too. Compare both open hands before throwing in: a pickup may preserve your trumps, while a careless extra attack can surrender a forced escape.
This two-player Podkidnoy version uses four suits from 6 through Ace, dealing six cards each. The exposed bottom stock card sets trump and is drawn last. The lowest dealt trump starts; if neither player has a trump, the lower dealt rank starts, with a tie assigned to you. The CPU sees only its own hand and public information. It follows a modest fixed policy, not an optimal-play claim.
Attacks arrive one at a time. Beat a card with a higher card in its suit, or a trump if the attack is not trump. Only a higher trump beats a trump. Further attacks must match a rank on any attack or defense card. Choosing Pick up commits the defender to collecting the table, but the attacker may still add matching cards within the original bout limit. This version has no transfer, trump-six exchange or first-bout five-card limit.
A successful defense sends the table to the discard pile; a pickup sends it to the defender. The old attacker refills to six first, then the defender. The successful defender attacks next; after a pickup the old attacker attacks again. With no stock remaining, an empty hand wins only after the bout settles. Both hands empty together is a draw.
Each study is reached through legal play from a complete 36-card deal. The stock is empty, both hands are visible, and previously played cards remain accounted for in the discard pile. The studies train final-bout decisions; stock refilling belongs to the full match. Remaining active cards grow from 4 to 10. Later positions require planning several choices ahead, preserving useful defense cards and weighing when another attack would help your opponent.
Every starting study has a winning strategy against all legal replies, including voluntary pickups and subsequent attacks. The study CPU selects exact strongest replies. If your move loses that guarantee, the attempt stops with Study target lost so you can Undo. This is an exercise condition, not a new losing rule for ordinary Durak. Full matches continue under normal end-of-bout rules.
Hint previews a verified study continuation; Play hint applies it. Each study attempt allows one to four hints, with fewer in later levels. Undo restores your decision and every following CPU action without refunding hints or changing the deck. Restart asks before repeating the initial position; New deal changes the full-match shuffle. Only study wins unlock levels. Where local storage is available, unlocks, best scores and sound survive a reload; the board restarts at study 1.
After a defense or a declared pickup, add a rank already present on an attack or defense card. The bout cannot exceed six attacks or the defender’s hand size when it began.
The old attacker draws to six before the defender. The exposed trump card is at the bottom of the stock and is drawn last.
Yes. Pick up is legal whenever you are defending. It commits you to taking the table; the attacker can still add matching ranks within the original attack limit.
Full CPU is an ordinary random 36-card match with hidden opponent cards. The 20 open studies are clearly marked stock-empty endgames with all-reply winning proofs. Full-match wins do not unlock the studies.
This release is a solo game against the CPU on your device. It does not offer remote multiplayer or a second human seat.
Your move no longer guarantees escape against every legal reply. The exercise pauses as failed and allows Undo or Restart. It does not claim the ordinary Durak match has already ended.
