Garden La Belle Lucie brings the La Belle Lucie card game to a quiet garden table. Start with all 52 cards face up across eighteen fans, then move exposed cards onto the four suit foundations from ace to king. Twenty fixed, solvable deals give you room to plan, undo a decision and try another route.
Select an exposed top card. Move it onto a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit: a six of hearts can go onto a seven of hearts.
Send an ace to its suit foundation, followed by its two, three and so on through king. Foundation cards stay there.
Move only one card at a time. An empty fan stays empty, even if you have a king available.
When no card can move, use Redeal to regroup the remaining cards into fans of three. You have two redeals for the entire deal.
Get all 52 cards onto the foundations to unlock the next deal. Undo works even after a blocked position or a completed game.
Controls
Click or tap a top card and then its destination, or drag between them. Previous fan, Next fan and Choose fan offer button controls; To foundation moves a selected eligible card home. Selecting a fan shows its cards from bottom to top in the status text. Hint highlights a single action without moving anything; Play hint carries it out. Pause, Restart, sound, Help and Full screen are available beside the board.
A tip before you start
Look underneath a card before moving it. Freeing an ace can open its whole suit, while placing a card on another fan may bury a useful destination. Foundation-ready cards are safe to send home: every smaller card of that suit is already there.
A classic fan layout with clear limits
The initial deal contains seventeen three-card fans and one single card. Fans build down in the same suit, with only their top cards movable. This version has no merci draw, no way to extract a buried card and no extra space for a king. If both redeals are gone and nothing can move, use Undo or restart the same challenge.
Two redeals that stay the same
Each challenge stores its original 52-card deal and two shuffle orders. Redeal is available only after all legal card moves are exhausted. It shuffles the cards still outside the foundations, then deals them in groups of three. Undo and Restart keep those saved orders: the same remaining cards produce the same redeal. Restarting does not give you a luckier shuffle.
Twenty complete solutions, increasing search work
Every starting deal has a verified route that sends all 52 cards home within the two-redeal limit. Later challenges require more work from the same fixed solver, rising from 20 search nodes to 14,195. This is a consistent ordering of search effort, not a guarantee that every later deal feels harder. A different player move can still reach a dead end. Hints follow a known winning route when available; otherwise they run a limited search and say when the search budget is reached.
Free play on a compact garden table
Play free with no download and no ads. Desktop and portrait layouts keep the eighteen fans, foundations and necessary controls in the game window. Long fans overlap their cards; select a top card to read that fan's complete card list in the status line. Help opens in a separate dialog. There is no timer or life limit.
Frequently asked questions
La Belle Lucie solitaire: play instantly or install an app?
Play instantly in your browser. Let the artwork load to start the first complete deal. There is no account, installation or tutorial lock; open Help whenever you need the rules.
Can I move a whole fan or fill an empty one?
No. Only one exposed top card can move, and empty fans cannot be filled. Kings have no special empty-space privilege here.
Is this Three Shuffles and a Draw?
No. Garden La Belle Lucie uses the version without a merci or buried-card draw. You get the initial deal and at most two blocked-position redeals, with no extra tableau space.
Does Undo change the next redeal?
Undo restores the previous position and redeal count. The two saved shuffle orders do not change. Undoing and repeating the same action therefore produces the same cards.
What does the game save?
Unlocked challenges, best scores and the sound setting are saved locally when browser storage is available. Reload starts a fresh first deal; it does not resume an unfinished fan layout. Restart and changing a level ask for confirmation.
Can every position be won?
Every challenge's starting deal has a verified complete solution. A player's later choices may block that route or leave no winning continuation. Undo can recover earlier positions. A hint search that reaches its budget does not claim the position is impossible.
