Play Garden Skyline Online
Garden Skyline is a skyscrapers puzzle game about height and hidden views. Fill every row and column with different heights, then check what can be seen from each outside clue. The twenty original grids progress from 4×4 to 6×6. Play online free with no timer, ads or download.
How to play Garden Skyline online
- Select a square, then choose a height. A 4×4 board uses 1–4, a 5×5 board uses 1–5, and a 6×6 board uses 1–6.
- Use each allowed height once in every row and column. There are no smaller Sudoku boxes.
- Look inward from each numbered edge. A taller height hides any shorter height behind it; the edge clue gives the number of towers you can see.
- Complete every square and match all supplied edge clues. A dash means that edge has no clue. Finish the puzzle to unlock the next level.
Controls
Click or tap a cell and choose its height from the controls. Arrow keys move focus; 1–6 enter an available height, and 0, Backspace or Delete clears it. Enter or Space cycles the available values. C checks, H hints and U undoes. Pause, sound, Help, restart and full screen are outside the grid.
A tip before you start
Start with a clue of 1: the nearest height must be the tallest. A clue equal to the board size means the heights rise in order from that viewing direction. Then use the opposite clue and crossing rows to narrow down the remaining positions.
Read a viewing clue in either direction
Consider a row containing 1, 3, 2, 4. From the left you see heights 1, 3 and 4, so its clue is 3. From the right, height 4 blocks every shorter height, so its clue is 1. Top clues look downward and bottom clues look upward. The numbers describe visible towers, not a sum of heights.
Twenty original unique-solution puzzles
The first eight levels use 4×4 grids, the next eight use 5×5, and the final four use 6×6. Within each size, successive levels omit another edge clue. A fixed complete solver performs strictly more constraint checks at every level, from 1,586 to 1,486,218. A separate checker confirms that every supplied grid has one solution. Measured solver work is not a promise of subjective difficulty.
Mistakes stay editable
Check highlights duplicate heights and completed lines that disagree with a supplied viewing clue. An incomplete line may still need revision even when Check finds no immediate conflict. Hint corrects one height. Undo restores the last edit, including after completion, while keeping the hint count.
All four sides stay visible
The board and its complete set of supplied edge clues scale together for landscape and portrait play. The height buttons, status and required actions stay beside or below the board; Help opens separately. Dragging away from a cell cancels an unfinished selection.
Save and revisit your levels
Unlocked levels, best scores and sound save locally when browser storage works. An unfinished puzzle starts fresh after reload. Restarting or switching levels asks for confirmation. If storage is unavailable, a notice explains that progress remains only for the current session.
Frequently asked questions
Does a dash mean zero towers are visible?
No. A dash means the clue is omitted, so there is no viewing requirement from that particular edge. The row or column still uses every allowed height exactly once.
Do heights repeat inside a row or column?
No. Each allowed height appears once per row and once per column. Repeated heights are highlighted by Check.
Does Garden Skyline have Sudoku boxes?
No. Only complete rows, columns and the supplied viewing clues constrain the board. There are no separate 2×2 or 3×3 boxes.
Can I undo a completed puzzle?
Yes. Undo restores the last edit and reopens the grid. The next level remains unlocked, and previously used hints are still counted.
Is this skyscrapers puzzle game free online?
Yes. All twenty levels are free, with no account, timer or download. You can revisit unlocked levels at any time.
Will a correct-looking partial line always lead to the solution?
No. Check reports immediate duplicate or completed-clue errors. You may need to revise an incomplete line after considering the crossing clues.
