How to play Garden Bezique online

  1. Choose Full CPU match for a complete 64-card game, or Study challenges for a visible endgame. In Study, both hands and the remaining stock order are shown.
  2. While the stock remains, reply with any card. The trick winner may declare one eligible meld or skip, then draws first. The other player draws second.
  3. Tap physical cards to select a meld, or browse every legal combination with Previous meld and Next meld. Declare confirms the selected set; Skip gives up that declaration and draws.
  4. Once the stock closes, follow suit and beat the lead if possible. If you cannot follow suit, play a trump if you have one. Finish all cards; Next deal carries your match points forward.

Controls

Tap or click a card, then choose Play card. Arrow keys move focus; Enter or Space selects. During a declaration, select the exact card group and choose Declare, or use Skip. M and N browse melds, D declares, P plays, H suggests, U or Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes, and Escape clears selection. A dragged-away or cancelled touch does not play a card.

A tip before you start

Check each physical card's previous meld value before spending it. In this profile, a Queen that already scored in a 60-point set cannot enter a 40-point Bezique, but it can enter a 500-point double Bezique. The other copy of that Queen has its own history.

Which version of Bezique is used?

This is two-player, two-pack Bezique: 64 cards, with two copies of Ace, Ten, King, Queen, Jack, Nine, Eight and Seven in each suit. Each hand starts with eight cards. The rank order is Ace, Ten, King, Queen, Jack, Nine, Eight, Seven; identical cards favor the player who led. Rule descriptions differ, so Garden Bezique names its chosen higher-valued-kind meld profile instead of presenting it as the only traditional version.

Melds and the physical-card rule

A same-suit King and Queen score 20, or 40 in trump. Any four Aces, Kings, Queens or Jacks score 100, 80, 60 or 40; duplicate suits are allowed. The Queen of Spades plus Jack of Diamonds score 40 for Bezique; both copies of each score 500. A trump Ace, Ten, King, Queen and Jack score 250. After winning a trick, declare one combination from the cards still owned. They stay playable and become visible. Each physical card can score again only in a different, strictly higher-valued kind of meld. Replacing one member does not refresh the other cards. This is stricter than guides that distinguish categories without that global value restriction.

The Dix and the final draw

Each physical Seven of trump scores ten only once. An initial exposed Seven gives the dealer ten immediately. After winning an open-stock trick, you may use your one declaration to show an unscored Seven and exchange it for a non-Seven exposed trump. If the indicator is another Seven, show yours without exchanging. Playing an unscored Seven also earns its player ten. The winner of trick 24 may still declare before the final draw; then the winner takes the last face-down card and the loser takes the exposed trump. No new melds are allowed after that draw.

How the closed stock changes play

During open-stock play, there is no obligation to follow suit or win the trick. After the stock runs out, the final eight tricks require following the led suit and beating it if possible. Without that suit, trump if possible. Aces and Tens captured in tricks score ten each, and the final trick adds ten. There is no bonus for the closing draw or sweeping all final eight tricks.

A complete match to 1,000

Full CPU match finishes every 64-card deal, adds the points and alternates the dealer. MangoFun checks its 1,000-point target after a completed deal: a clear leader at or above the target wins, while equal totals continue. This end-of-deal comparison is an explicit match setting. Next deal keeps the running total; Restart repeats the same current deal with its carried score, and New Match resets totals after confirmation. The CPU receives only its own hand and public information and uses a modest decision policy.

Twenty open studies

The studies are legal positions from complete deals, with visible hands and real remaining stock. Nineteen closed-stock lessons lead to a final declaration-and-draw exercise. Later lessons require progressively more decisions and planning. A target is a future net difference: points you gain minus points the CPU gains after the study starts. Lose no more than 20 means a result of minus 20 or better; it does not claim the historical deal is won. Every target-reaching legal continuation counts, including equivalent choices between card copies.

Hints, Undo and saved progress

Study hints use exact visible-position analysis; normal hints use public information and do not guarantee victory. Undo restores your decision and all intervening CPU actions and draws. A study win unlocks the next challenge; full matches do not unlock studies. The browser saves study unlocks, best results and sound preference. Unfinished positions restart after reload. Help, Pause, optional full screen and artwork Retry are available.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse a melded Queen?

Yes, if every card in the new meld is eligible for a different kind worth strictly more than its previous highest meld. A fresh duplicate is a separate physical card. The focused card and Score panel show its eligibility.

Can I declare after winning the last open-stock trick?

Yes in this version. Declare before drawing the final face-down card and exposed trump. Once those two cards are taken, the stock is closed and declarations stop.

Why does the game require a higher card now?

The stock has closed. You must follow suit and beat the lead if possible; when void in that suit, you must use a trump if you can. Earlier open-stock tricks permit any reply.

What do I and II mean on the cards?

They identify the two physical copies of the same face. Their meld and Dix histories are tracked independently, even when the rank and suit look identical.

Does this version support online multiplayer?

This release is local solo play against a CPU. It does not provide remote multiplayer. Open Study hands are a teaching feature, not the information shown in a normal hidden-hand match.
