How to play Garden Aces and Kings online

  1. Choose a full game, a repeatable fixed deck or an unlocked practice.
  2. Build foundations 1–4 upward from Ace to King and foundations 5–8 downward from King to Ace, ignoring suits.
  3. Play exposed reserve, tableau or waste cards. Tableau spots hold only one card and refill directly from stock.
  4. Transfer a foundation top when it changes a rank requirement usefully. Once stock is empty, use empty tableau spots as temporary space.
  5. Move all 104 cards onto the foundations to finish. There is one stock pass and no redeal.

Controls

Tap an exposed reserve, tableau, waste or foundation card to select it. Tap a destination foundation or empty tableau spot, then press Move. Tap the stock or press Draw for one new waste card. Arrow keys navigate sources and targets; Enter selects, P moves, D draws, H hints and U or Ctrl+Z undoes. Pile details lists the open cards.

A tip before you start

A foundation is also a source. If an upward pile ends at 7 and a downward pile needs 7, transferring that top card makes the upward pile need 7 again. A blocked reserve 7 can now replace it, uncovering the next reserve card. Check both directions before drawing another card.

Two directions, eight foundations

The complete Aces and Kings Solitaire game uses 104 cards. Two reserves receive thirteen cards each, four single-card tableau spots receive one card each, and the first stock card is exposed on the waste. That leaves seventy-three hidden stock cards. Foundations start empty: the first four require Aces and then consecutive higher ranks; the other four require Kings and then consecutive lower ranks. Suits and colors do not restrict either direction.

How a foundation bridge releases a reserve

Foundation cards can move again. Suppose one upward foundation has reached 7, a downward foundation has reached 8, and a reserve is blocked by another 7. Move the first foundation's 7 onto the downward 8. The upward pile now exposes 6 and accepts the reserve 7, opening the card underneath. The game explains the changed requirement after a transfer. A legal transfer is not automatically a good one, so inspect the newly available cards before committing to another move.

Stock-first refills are part of this version

There is no building on occupied tableau cards. When a tableau card moves, its space immediately receives the next stock card, even if the waste has cards. The waste is not used for this automatic refill. When stock is empty, any exposed reserve, waste, tableau or foundation card can fill an empty tableau spot. Reserves never refill. Some versions use waste-first refills; Garden Aces and Kings consistently follows the stock-first profile.

Twenty original practices with more to coordinate

Practice positions start with foundations partly built and six cards still outside them. The course rises to forty-four remaining cards, introduces stock refill timing, and later demonstrates foundation transfers that open another exposed card's path. These are original constructed exercises, not positions claimed to come from shuffled deals. Each starting practice has a verified finishing route. More remaining cards and additional interacting mechanics increase the workload; the order is not a proof of minimum human difficulty.

Hints show one move for you to confirm

Practice mode discloses the remaining stock order in Pile details. Up to three hints search for a complete finishing route, then select its next move without playing it. The hint can also explain how a foundation transfer changes an available rank. A search that reaches its budget reports an unknown result and charges no hint. Full-game suggestions inspect visible cards only and do not certify a win. Shuffled full games are not guaranteed solvable.

Undo and resume on this device

Undo restores the previous move, including an automatic stock refill, and keeps used hints charged. Restart and mode changes ask before replacing your position. Unlocked practices, sound preference and the active game save locally when browser storage is available. If storage is blocked, play continues for the current session with a notice. Play alone with no account, download, stakes or remote opponents.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to match suits?

No. The eight foundations care only about rank. Their direction is fixed: four build up and four build down.

Can I move a card off a foundation?

Yes. A foundation top can move to another foundation that needs its rank, or to an empty tableau once stock has run out. This can release a useful rank for a reserve card.

Why did the tableau refill from stock instead of waste?

This game uses the stock-first rule profile. Playing a tableau card draws the next stock card directly into that spot. Waste-first versions use a different refill rule.

Can I deal the stock a second time?

No. Draw exposes one card at a time and there is no redeal. Stock cards can also enter tableau spots through automatic refills.

Are the practice positions full deals?

No. They are constructed exercises with partly completed foundations and open stock information. Full game mode starts with both complete decks.

Does a hint guarantee that my full game will finish?

No. Full-game hints suggest a visible move without examining hidden stock. Practice hints can verify a route, but may return an unknown result if their search limit is reached.
